Most Expensive and Worst Experience
有机蓝梦岛水疗中心的点评
点评：I hate leaving bad reviews for small companies, but sometimes it feels necessary.
First of all, the room was dingy and unclean, as were the massage beds. The sheet around the face-hole in the bed smelled awful and, upon inspection after the massage, it turned out to be mouldy (photo attached). In other words, not only was it not freshly changed between customers, it hadn't even been washed in a while.
There was no sign of the beautiful spa or staff in white uniforms shown in the photos online; I found myself in a dingy and grimy back room with a toilet in it (photos attached). There was peaceful spa music playing, but sadly it was entirely drowned out by the loud music playing next door.
My masseuse seemed sick: she sniffed and snorted and snuffled for the entire massage, which made it difficult to relax. I was either face-down in the stench of the bed or face-up being spluttered on. I had booked a sports massage (for 250k which was the most expensive massage I booked during six weeks in Bali), but my masseuse confidently declared she was there to do a Balinese massage. I corrected her, but either she went ahead and did a Balinese massage anyway or it was the worst sports massage I've ever received.
The massage itself was bad. She didn't wash or even wipe my feet beforehand, which meant she was just grinding sand into my legs and then massaging my face with the same dirty hands that had just massaged my unwashed feet. This was my 30th massage in Bali, so while I'm no expert I have plenty to compare it to and this was just rubbish in every regard.
The one positive aspect of the entire experience was that - after nobody could confirm which massage I actually had (or even tell me what a sports massage was) they eventually agreed to only charge me for a Balinese massage. At 170k it was still the most expensive and worst massage I have had in Bali; I left feeling cheated, disappointed and slightly sick from the mouldy stench.
