点评:The New Hope-Lambertville Bridge is a six-span, steel truss, 1053-foot-long Bridge spanning the Delaware River. It was built in 1904 and connects the two interesting and historic towns of Lambertville in New Jersey and New Hope in Pennsylvania. It is maintained as a toll-free bridge.
We come to these towns every now and then to get some early Christmas shopping done and dine in one of their wonderful restaurants on both sides of the bridge.
We usually park in Lambertville in one of several paid parking spots and then take the short quarter mile walk into New Hope – which is also what we did during this visit.
The views from the bridge are fabulous. Along the way there are several wonderful photo ops and plaques to read about all the history that happened here. There is also a place in the center of the bridge to capture a nice photo of the separation line between the two towns of two States.
The bridge is always busy with car traffic. I had always wanted a picture of an empty bridge, and after about ten tries, I finally got my photo this time.
It is fun waking across the bridge, so do give it a try.
