点评:This is an expensive little winery - but it is a long way up the volcano, the weather is cold and the yields are low.
That said it was lovely and sunny when we were there - if a little cool.
This is your own bit of Northern Burgundy in Australia and very good indeed.
They served us a "fume blanc" - which was oaked and a little dusty. I despise Sav Blanc - but I suspect this was quite a good reflection of fume blanc (flavoured a little by soot) as made in France.
I would not write home about that.
But the Chardonnays and Pinots were special. We had cycled the length of Burgundy taking notes a year prior - and I could even identify the clones used. They were well chosen.
Yeah - you will spend $100 a bottle on the great wines and $50 a bottle on good wines. But put them in the cellar for three to four years and the outcome will likely be wine as. a religious experience.
Recommended - but only if you do not mind spending $$$$ on world class cold weather wines.
