点评:Having already spent a few weeks as tourist we wanted insights into the side of South Africa not normally seen by tours. We like doing bike tours, so google found us Loyiso and contact and arrangements by email went fast. Loyiso picked us up from our Airbnb in Gardens of Cape Town and transported us to Khayelitsha. On the drive we learned his life history and about his township project African Jam Performing, a non-profit, volunteer driven, performing arts organization serving young people in South Africa.
Loyiso provided us a raw, candid tour of his neighborhood in Khayelitsha, giving extensive insights. We visited his house, met his neighbors, took taxi to the center and markets, hired bikes, rode around, visited a Kindergarten and primary school, had a beer in his local bar and ended up back at his house for lunch cooked by his wife.
The sad thing we learned is that covid had destroyed interest in his bike tours, and the withdrawal of sponsors have put his African Jam Performing project in danger, so please support Loyiso and his good work !
