点评：Omkareshwar temple Visit was happened very surprisingly without any plan. We were travelling from Sirsi to Chopta and by lunch time we reached to UkhiMath to catch Chopta taxi.
So while waiting there for taxi someone told me that temple is near by then immediately we walked towards temple and fortunately just we had darshan and then temple closed. we were the last devotees of that day before noon time.
Omkareshwar is small town situated in Rudraprayag district at an elevation of 1300 meters above sea level. its around 40 km away from Rudra Prayag town. The temple is situated on the banks of the Mandakini River and is surrounded by the majestic Himalaya mountains, making it a popular tourist destination. The Omkareshwar temple architecture is marvel, built in the traditional Nagara style of North India and the temple features intricate carvings and sculptures that showcase the artistic brilliance of a Bygone era. its believed that this temple is about 5000 years old.
This temple is famous because its serves as the winter abode for the deity of Kedarnath shrine. During winter season the Kedarnath deity is brought to Omkareshwar temple and worshipped here. The deity of Madmaheswar temple which is one of the Pancha Kedar temple is also brought to this temple and worshipped during the winters.
The Omkareshwar temple is particularly famous for its Maha Shivaratri festival. It is believed that the Wedding of Usha (daughter of Vanasur) and Anirudh (Grandson of Lord Krishna) was solemnized here and hence this was named as Ushamath and after the name of Ushamath know as Ukhimat.
