Interesting, but Not Among Kefalonia’s Highlights

点评：We visited Mega Lakos Beach after spending some time at Xi Beach and found it to be in slightly better condition overall. The distinctive red sand and clay-rich shoreline are certainly the beach’s main attractions, creating a unique landscape that differs from many other beaches on the island.
That said, the sea itself felt more like a typical Greek beach experience and lacked the striking turquoise waters often associated with Kefalonia and the Ionian Islands. There are a few organized sections with umbrellas and sunbeds, while most of the beach remains freely accessible.
Although the beach has its own character, we did not feel it was worth a special journey if you are staying in another part of the island. With so many spectacular beaches to choose from in Kefalonia, we found ourselves wondering whether our time could have been better spent exploring some of the island’s more impressive coastal spots.
Overall, an interesting beach with unique natural features, but not one that left a lasting impression on us.
