点评：Our visit to the island was such a unique experience, in large part due to our tour guide August. We expected to come to the island and have a tour led in Swedish with an English summary from time to time, which would have been great since the museum and guide books help bridge the language gap. But our guide way exceeded expectations.
August was so knowledgeable. Further, he spoke fluent English and answered our many questions about plants, giving us the Swedish, Latin and English equivalent names. It was a pleasure to be led through this special island by such a kind, enthusiastic young man. The tour way exceeded our expectations!
We went through the museum before the tour to help us know what to look for during the tour. There are so many fossil, rock, bird and wildlife specimens on display. Highly recommended as a starting point.
It’s a short ferry ride from Gotland, but it seems a world apart due to its very high cliffs, stunning birds and unspoiled habitat.
Lunch at the restaurant was good and plentiful. We had a lovely view of the Baltic Sea. Our daughter swam in the clear waters and found it cool and refreshing. Highly recommended excursion. Don’t miss this unique opportunity!
