An unforgettable experience
In The Footsteps Battlefield Tours的点评
点评：Our group of 7 friends recently did a private First World War battlefields tour in Northern France and Belgium and it was an unforgettable experience. Our driver and guide, Pete, was not only knowledgeable about the area and its history, he was passionate about the Great War and was able to give us a real insight into the battles, the monuments and the personal stories of those who lost their lives in the War ( even busting a few long held myths along the way!).
Some of our group had sent the company information about family members who had died in the War and our tour was organised to allow them to visit their graves or memorials.
From the monumental sites at Vimy Ridge, Tyne Cot and Thiepval, to the small cemetery of Tincourt and the Miners' Memorial at Givenchy, there were so many extraordinary experiences, but for me the Last Post at the Menin Gate was the most moving.
We stayed for one night in Arras and two nights in Ieper (Ypres) and both hotels (B&B) were very comfortable and conveniently located near to bars and restaurants.
I would definitely use this company again.
