“Enjoyed our experience and hope to return.” Consider timing with young kids
Wolf Conservation Center的点评
点评：I have had a lifelong interest in wildlife. I have been following wolf conservation efforts since their reintroduction to Yellowstone when I was just a kid, and followed The Wolf Conservation Center for years. I finally got to make the drive to visit.
My family attended a Winter Wolves program. The staff was friendly and you could tell that Jim, our program guide, truly enjoys what he does. Some reviewers complained that they only got to see the Ambassador wolves, but you are told up front that you may not see the others, as human interaction is limited because they are going to be released into the wild. That is what it’s all about- wolf species conservation.
Myself being an Environmental Specialist for NYS, I was hoping to hear more about the impacts of wolves’ extirpation and their vital role in native biodiversity, but the program seems to be aimed more towards laymen and kids, which is where education begins. I would recommend that if you plan on attending the winter programs with younger children, make sure they are dressed appropriately in very warm outdoor clothes, and maybe reconsider a different season or future time if they have a hard time being still or get bored easily, as most of the program was sitting or standing and listening to the guide. They may inhibit the experience for others. Some children during our program seemed to have a hard time with their patience and the cold.
We heartedly enjoyed our experience and hope to return. I love and admire the dedicated work the Wolf Conservation Center does, and hope they receive the funding and recognition they deserve.
