点评:Today I visited Table Land in Panchgani and unfortunately, I got scammed and ended up losing around ₹1200 per horse.
Many horsemen will approach you offering a “free” ride to a few spots. Once you're on the horse, they'll tell you that visiting 4 locations will cost ₹1000 and 9 locations will cost around ₹2500. They’ll even show you a board claiming the prices are set by the government and say they’ve already reduced the rates.
I declined their offer and asked for a family house tour (we were a group of 4, planning for 1 hourse only), but they refused and said it’s not allowed for groups—only individual horse rides are permitted. However, you’ll see regular people walking those same paths, and the destinations are actually nearby.
Once you agree to the “free trial,” they’ll make sure to start you on a 4-location plan. Later, they'll stop the horse multiple times and keep insisting that you add more points to the ride. If you refuse, they will stop 4-5 times and keep pressuring you to add at least one more spot for ₹200 (like Tiger Point), which also requires a separate ₹20 entry ticket into a cave.
The worst part is, once you’ve agreed to the trial ride, it becomes very difficult to argue or back out. You’ll feel trapped and awkward riding the horse while they keep insisting you add more locations. Every added spot means extra money.
There should be fixed prices listed clearly beforehand—ideally on government websites or at the location itself—so visitors know what to expect. This was the worst experience of my life
