点评：My wife and I together with numerous dogs have walked through Leigh Woods for over twenty years and have enjoyed the quiet peace and solitude, particularly in the earlier years when there was no charge and everything was as nature intended..
It is with regret therefore that I find myself in the position of expressing our dismay at the unacceptable changes that have taken place over the last five years. Particularly the provision of mountain bike trails, for which huge areas of woodland have been obliterated with hard standing chicanes provided so that cyclists can speed through with no consideration at all for the habitat around them.
Not environmentally friendly and hardly beneficial to resident wildlife. Certainly not the tranquil image promoted in the tourism literature.
Main paths have been laid with a form of aggregate, forming cambers which are difficult to negotiate and result in large muddy areas at each side. So loved by many dogs, including our own if we do not control her.
My advice to potential visitors is do not believe everything you read on line and in the various guides.
Just across the road is Ashton Court Estate a larger and more tranquil environment and parking is cheaper
