Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument的点评
点评：You MUST make a reservation for the Ranger tour to see Alibates Flint Quarry. There is no fee for the park or the tour. The tour is at 10:00 am and we were a group of 12, with 3 children, one was about 1 year. The tour is about 2 hours long, but well worth it; that includes drive time, walking, stopping to talk and explain things and back down. Our Ranger guide was David, he was a very good guide. He explained things all along the way, it was very interesting. The hike to the top is not bad, there are a few shelter shade stops along the way and the guide explains more things of the area, which gave people time to rest and ask more questions. There are steps, making the upward climb easier. Like I said we had children on our tour and a little one that was carried the whole time, so unless you have problems climbing stairs, you could easily do this tour. Not sure if this tour is offered in the winter, but for summertime, bring water, wear a hat and anything else you might need. Very interesting tour and well worth it - glad we did it. If you don't take the tour, there is not a lot to see at the monument. Make reservations!!!
