点评:Mkomazi National Park is a huge park bordering Kenya’s Tsavo West. It is indeed a "hidden gem" and a premier destination for viewing critically endangered black rhinos and African wild dogs, alongside large herds of oryx and gerenuk.
The tour inside the rhino sanctuary is wild! The rangers guard the area day and night against poachers, and they also drive the vehicle inside the fenced reserve where the rhinos live. It may sound a bit dull, but it is not — trust me. You have to wear long-sleeved shirts and be prepared to throw yourself into the middle of the open rover car because of the huge thorn bushes where the rhinos often go to feed. It is really scary to get up close to these massive animals. We also saw a baby rhino 🥰
The park itself is amazing. We drove around in our own car and saw more giraffes than we could count. It feels like you are truly in the wild, not in a tourist park. In fact, we didn't see a single other tourist vehicle while we were there.
