Sharnfold Farm的点评
点评：I suggested meeting my friends to Sharnfold for coffee/cake and a mooch around the beautiful farm shop. Admittedly I hadn’t been for a while and knew it had been bought out by a corporation.
But what greeted us was quite frankly abysmal! The farm shop was no more and the kitchen area was a ghost town with hardly any cake.. any that were there were factory made.
It used to be buzzing with kitchen staff making the lunches and cakes and queues out the door for their food.
The coffee was served in disposable cups and the cake arrived in paper bags! It used to be a place to meet up with the kids for a few hours play and a treat for the grown ups.
They have built up the play area, I agree there is more to do outside for the children, at a cost, but sitting on the lovely terrace with a pre packed cake in a bag and a disposable coffee has now spoilt the old experience. The previous owners I’m sure would be so upset to see what has been done to their beautiful farm shop and cafe.
I was told they stopped doing all the lovely food and cakes because there “wasn’t a need for it anymore”. I’d hazzard a guess it’s the extortionate fee just to go and play and walk around, what was once free, farm land, enjoying the animals.
So sad to see it all so depleted and unwelcoming for just having a coffee.
I won’t be back with friends or children nor will I recommend it anymore.
