点评:What an unexpected delight offered by Dan and Jo (and Gracie the delightful kelpie) ! We were taken on a 1.2 k flat and easy walking tour along a heritage and rural trail where we had rich and informative talks on the farming history, the Aboriginal history, ( including clear evidence of cultivation, fish traps and trade) and the ancient history when landforms changed. We learned of the difficulties of smaller farms getting access to their allowable water, and the perils of merely surviving with unreliable water. But we also heard of, and saw the benefits of regenerative farming, sustainable and organic growing and wine making, of respect for the land and return of natural habitats for birds, bats frogs - a tale of resilience and wonder . Jo and Dan also served a delightful lunch ( homemade bread, salads, cheeses ( some really rich and unusual ones), pickles, olives etc. all served in a cava built into a hill. They also sold wine / meat from their 1000 acre organic farm. It's a bit of a hike on country roads, but *eminently* worth a visit for the education, the shining enthusiasm of the owners, and the model of how farming should be. Thank you - we will be back!
