A very enjoyable visit.
Ormesby Hall的点评
点评：Lovely, interesting place to visit. As others have mentioned, the volunteers were excellent; knowledgeable helpful, friendly and anxious to impart their knowledge.
Tea room good. Plenty of seating (inc a dog friendly area) and prices, for the Nat Trust, reasonable. Serving area small and on a busy day, I would think, cramped but the staff coped manfully. The families history was interesting and the later members philanthropy laudable. One of the vols we spoke to had first hand experience of the consideration given to local groups by the last occupant.
The model train was fascinating, just a great pity that they are struggling for volunteers for it.
Re previous comments about signage. We had no trouble finding it. (Brown signs are the responsibility of the local council not the NT) the way in is the same drive in or out.
Also as mentioned, it is nice to see this property is staying faithful to the family who donated it and isn’t being overtaken by the current NT ‘philosophy’. It just remains a nice house and landscape and telling a honest history of the family. Well done the local staff and volunteers!
