Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail的点评
点评：The Forest of Dean itself is absolutely lovely, and if you're looking for somewhere to entertain young children, I'd say it's a great afternoon out with a lovely play area and an interactive mini trail.
However… the Sculpture Trail itself was a big disappointment. We walked for around an hour and managed to find a grand total of three sculptures. The sculptures we found were extremely abstract and they had no information, description or explanation alongside them, so there was no context at all about the artists, the ideas behind the pieces or what we were actually looking at.
There are arrows marking the route, but they were few and far between, and we often found ourselves wondering whether we were actually still on the sculpture trail or simply having a very scenic walk through the forest. We genuinely expected the trail to take less than two hours, so we only paid for two hours of parking. Unfortunately, given how difficult the sculptures were to find, that turned out to be a rather optimistic estimate. The car park is also quite expensive, which made the experience feel even less worthwhile.
I'd strongly recommend taking your own food and drinks unless you enjoy paying premium prices for refreshments. The cafe prices were extortionate.
Rubbish was another issue. There were posters in the toilets asking visitors to put their rubbish in the correct bins… unfortunately, we couldn't actually find any bins! Rubbish was left on tables, the nappy bin in the ladies' toilets was piled high, and rubbish was scattered across the sinks.
Overall, the Forest of Dean is beautiful, and I'd happily recommend it for families with younger children because of the park and interactive activities. But if you're specifically visiting for the Sculpture Trail, I wouldn't bother.
We went expecting a fascinating woodland walk featuring an interesting collection of sculptures, instead, we spent much of the time playing the sculpture equivalent of Where's Wally.
If you're looking for a really good sculpture trail, I'd recommend Forest Fawr in Tongwynlais, close to Castell Coch. It's a much more enjoyable experience and its completely free.
Beautiful location, great potential and lovely for children — but sadly, for us, the actual sculpture trail was a big disappointment.

垃圾问题也是个麻烦事。厕所里贴着告示，呼吁游客把垃圾扔进指定的垃圾桶里……可惜的是，没什么效果。我们实际上根本找不到任何垃圾桶！垃圾被随意扔在桌子上，女洗手间的尿布垃圾桶里堆满了垃圾，洗手池周围也到处都是垃圾。
总体而言，迪恩森林非常美丽。鉴于那里有公园和各种互动活动，我很乐意向带着年幼孩子的家庭推荐这个地方。不过，如果你专门是为了参观雕塑步道才来，那我觉得就没必要了。
