A beautifully preserved colonial fort with endless photo opportunities

点评：Galle Fort is one of the most enjoyable places to explore in southern Sri Lanka. The streets are lively and sounding are beautifully maintained, the architecture is a mix of Dutch and British influence, and the entire area has a relaxed coastal atmosphere. Walking along the ramparts at sunset is a highlight, and there are plenty of great spots for photography. from the lighthouse to the narrow alleyways and restored buildings. It’s easy to spend a few hours here enjoying cafés, small shops, and the views across the bay. A must-visit when travelling through the south.
Although credit goes to Dutch for the Fort, there is Portuguese presence throughout the mega structure. This is well presented with clear information boards.
The highlight for me was the Galle Maritime Museum. Well presented artifacts and presentations. I must do in Galle for Marine enthusiasts like my self.
Ice cream from Gelato was as memorable as the Poke lunch we had there.
