点评:This hike is listed as moderate. I have been on both moderate and strenuous trails. When in 1.5 miles you increase your elevation by more than 900 feet - I can't consider that moderate. Long upward hike - nice scenery - but when you finally get to the end the cairns seem to disappear. You do not see the arch anymore (you did see it from about one half mile away). You've seen pics of people standing on the arch and wondered if the path would go in two directions. We actually thought we were on top of the arch. This was disappointing after such a hike and you felt it would be a one star review. Later - after sitting awhile we walked around more looking and we found a spot where you could see the arch.....and the other member of our couple walked around more on the slick rock and found where you could cross the arch so we were able to get pics with a live person standing on the arch - which was a five star. Given the strenuous nature of the hike and the lack of signage /cairns at the top the overall score is a three. A couple of things you need to know - as the sign at the base says - bring plenty of water. You can fill your container at the Visitor Center - there is no water at the trailhead. Second - think seriously before standing on the arch if it is windy. Its straight down on both sides and a sudden 20 mph wind gust you are not expecting could cause serious trouble.
