点评：First, I'll share the most valuable tip I ever got on TripAdvisor: If you're going from Chama to Antonito, sit on the RIGHT side of the train. If you're going from Antonito to Chama, sit on the LEFT side of the train. We went from Chama to Antonito, and I booked Parlor car tickets on the right side (avoid the first seat and the last seat if possible - by the toilet and back door). The right side nearly always faces the best scenery, while the left side nearly always faces the side of the mountain.
Another tip: Go in late September or early October if possible because the great scenery is highlighted by the changing Fall leaves. You see amazing colors.
We sat in the Parlor Car, and it was definitely worth it, if you can afford it. Yes, it was kind of expensive, but it's a very long train ride and the extra comfort and better views make it worth it. You sit in armchairs that are not attached to the floor, so you can move them around as you wish. It's also the last car on the train, so you can stand outside on the back platform of the train and view the track going by and talk to one of the conductors. Plus you get free drinks, snacks, and you're first off the train for lunch. So, you go through the buffet first. The food for lunch is very good.
The Deluxe Car also looked very good, passing through it. It is made up of tables. I didn't see the Standard Cars, but I can imagine that it would get uncomfortable on such a long ride.
The outdoor gondola car is also a neat experience that anyone can visit.
The stop for lunch is at a historic train station, which has some restored buildings that you can go into and see exhibits and informational plaques.
