A centre run from the till, not from the front
Calypso Diving Centre的点评
点评：We booked a week as a group of experienced divers, packages of 10 dives with nitrox. We dive lakes at home, so cold water and poor visibility are our normal conditions — we are not a group that needs hand-holding.
Pricing: before booking we were quoted a boat surcharge of 15 EUR per day. We were then charged 20 EUR and 15 EUR, with no explanation offered.
Guiding: for our night dive the centre attached three newly qualified divemasters to our group — a group that had booked as a group and had not asked for additional guiding. One of them entered the water with a failing primary light. None of the three carried a backup light at all, it was simply absent. The briefing consisted of basics nobody had asked for, and the site was Marsalforn harbour at barely 10 m: sand and dead seagrass, effectively a sandbank. Every diver in our group said the same thing afterwards — paying money for that dive was a joke, and we would have been better off not going. Training new staff is fine; doing it on the time of paying guests, without asking, is not.
Facilities: the equipment storage room in the basement is poorly ventilated and smells musty. Drying was inadequate, so we dried our suits at the hotel instead.
Organisation: on day one we said clearly that we did not feel looked after as guests, and offered to move to another centre if that was easier for everyone. Nothing followed. On day two one of us was out with a muscle tear and could not dive again all week; a second member dropped out on the final day. She had paid for ten dives and completed one. No refund was ever requested — but not once did anyone from the management come and ask how she was, or open any conversation at all. The manager runs the numbers; he does not run the floor.
Bottom line: everything here is settled at the till, and nothing is invested in whether the guest comes back. We will not return, and we cannot recommend this centre.

设施方面：地下室的装备储存室通风不良，有一股霉味。装备根本晾不干，所以我们只好回到酒店去晾干潜水服。
组织管理方面：第一天我们就明确表示，作为客人我们感觉并未得到妥善照料。他主动提出，如果这样对大家更方便的话，他可以转到另一个中心去。但之后便再无下文。第二天，我们当中有一人肌肉拉伤，整个星期都无法潜水；最后一天，另一位成员也退出了。她已经支付了十次潜水的费用，但只完成了一次。她从未要求退款——然而管理层的人一次都没有过来询问她的状况，甚至连一句问候的话都没有。经理只管算账，并不亲自管理一线事务。总而言之：这里的一切都在结账时一了百了，根本不会去考虑顾客是否会再来。我们不会再光顾，也绝不能推荐这个中心。
