Stunning views and a beautiful building
Santuario de Nuestra Senora Virgen de la Cabeza的点评
点评：We were staying in the area and had seen the sanctuary on its hillside from a distance so we decided to travel up to have a look . It is a long winding drive to get up there but is easily found and well signposted . We parked in the car park , and were asked to pay 1 euro by two men in the car park. Still no sure that they were genuine as there were no signs saying about parking. The first thing you see is the statue of the Virgin Mary which towers over the sanctuary and the town below. The church is beautiful inside but a lot smaller than we thought it was going to be. You can walk down into the crypt and see the many offerings that have been left by people for prayers. The views from the top are staggering and you can see for miles. It was a little disappointing to see at a religious site to see a man selling lottery tickets by its entrance and a very sick dog lying in the car park. Only stayed for an hour as not a lot to stay longer for,
