We called Mildura Paddle Steamers in advance to inform them we had tested positive for COVID-19 and could not attend our booking. We did the right thing by notifying them early and avoiding the risk of exposing others. Despite this, they refused to refund us.
Their complete lack of empathy and basic decency is disgraceful. Punishing customers for being responsible is not just bad business — it’s unethical. We will absolutely never be booking with them again and will be warning others to steer clear. We could’ve come and exposed everyone as they told us we could but we had the locals/ tourists interest in heart. Disgusted by this
I also want to add, while we were communicating trying to have a humane conversation between the info centre and the paddle steamers both would say it was the others polices and procedures. If you’re going to run a business I suggest you know whose polices and procedures are what.
