点评：I wanted to know what the difference was between Rye Beach and Rye Ocean Beach, so I looked it up - Rye Beach (front beach) is a calm, shallow bay-side beach ideal for families, while Rye Ocean Beach (back beach) is an exposed, rough surf beach with strong rips suitable for experienced surfers. I most certainly visited Rye Beach because it was calm and quite shallow.
It is a sparkling, shallow bay waters perfect for a splash, a iconic long pier for daring jumps, and a buzzing carnival atmosphere. With golden sand, nearby ice cream shops, and a "kid-safe" vibe, it's a sunny spot for picnics, leisurely swims, and finding an "Octopus’s Garden" underwater.
The water is so calm and shallow, you can wade out forever! It’s basically a giant, natural paddling pool, making it paradise for families and floatie-enthusiasts.
As for the Octopus's Garden- Grab a snorkel and hunt for the 200-metre underwater trail near the pier, featuring stingrays and sea creatures—no submarine required.
Just steps away, you can transition from sandy toes to summer fun with nearby carnivals, ice creameries, and cafes. It’s the kind of beach where the sand is fine, the water is clear, and the vibe is pure, unapologetic holiday fun.
