点评：If you’re looking for a quiet, tropical escape without leaving the U.S., Captiva Island is a dream come true, at least for us. With white sand beaches, incredible shelling, and beautiful water, it truly feels like you’re in the Caribbean—yet you’re still in Florida.
We stayat Bayside Villas, a peaceful and family-friendly place to stay that offers a large pool, stunning bay views, and easy access to the beach. The sunrises over the bay are spectacular, and the moonlight at night in the baybir at the marina is magical—an unforgettable experience. Afternoons are comfortable and breezy, perfect for relaxing outdoors without the harsh direct sun.
Not dealing with the west sun all day is a plus for us. If we want to see sundown we walk over to the beach. It is a short walk.
Captiva is a top destination for shell collectors, and it doesn’t disappoint—shells galore line the shore just waiting to be discovered. Plus, Bayside Villas is walking distance to the charming Captiva village, where you’ll find great restaurants, local shops, and that laid-back island vibe.
This is the ideal vacation spot for couples, families, or anyone looking to relax, unplug, and reconnect with nature. Whether you want a romantic beach vacation, a girls’ getaway, or a low-key family trip, Captiva checks every box for us. We go several times a year. Things are looking so much better now from the hurricane.
