点评：Hiked with my teen daughter who hates hiking, and she had no problem. 4hr estimate is an exaggeration — it’s all downhill in the shade; 2hrs for most people. They give you helmets, which is also a bit unnecessary but I appreciate they get tired of the cost of rescues. Hiking poles useful as it’s downhill on rocks and slipping is easy otherwise. We saw a hiker slip and cut his arm quite badly.
Hike is very popular so everyone from non-hikers in trainers or experienced hikers go.
Do your homework. It’s expensive to get there, and the boat ride back from the beach to Los Gigantes is also expensive. Decide if it’s worth it for you. Many other good hikes in Tenerife.
We had my wife drop us off at Masca, so that helped. And my daughter loved the mini-adventure of the boat trip as the winds were howling and we got soaked. Only 20 mins.
One tip — we booked boat for 5 hours from start of our hike. So, even with a lengthy lunch break we got there way early. We did eventually get on an earlier boat and they were very helpful about it.
So you wait for an earlier boat and they prioritize people with an on-time or earlier booking. So, book trip 2.5hrs from start of your hike and take your time. If you get there late, you’ll be prioritized.
