Amazing, a visit is a must
Thorpe Camp Visitor Centre的点评
点评：I had read that my late Uncle had written a diary during WW2 and that it was held here. We made a day of it and travelled 2.5 hours to visit. From the minute we parked I was impressed. I asked at reception where the diary was likely to be, if even still here. The staff were so helpful and suggested if we couldn't locate it then speak to John. We found more than a diary, a wall full of letters sent to his mother, firstly saying that he was missing, then confirming that he had died in action. Further letters followed, which were so interesting. There were logs and photos that we'd never seen. I found John who then took us to the archives where he had a full folder all about my uncle. He allowed us to handle and read all the original letters as well as take photos. We now have so much more history about our family hero. I didn't expect any of this. The museum is full of so many interesting things to see, staff are knowledgeable and friendly. It was a bargain for £7.
The tearoom was lovely, well priced, friendly staff and amazing coffee and walnut cake.
I had the best time here and I love knowing that Uncle Tom's letters are being looked after safely.
