点评:We were regular visitors here but won’t be back after receiving a parking fine. We paid for 2 hours to give us a comfortable buffer but the walk took a lot longer than expected, then my wife had to breastfeed the baby when we got back to the car, so we overstayed by 20 mins. We also stopped for (very overpriced) coffee and cake at the start of our walk. A couple of weeks later we received a £50 fine from a third party company (reduced to £25 if you pay within a certain timeframe). I understand the need to generate revenue to pay for the upkeep but the parking is already extremely expensive for many families (plus money spent at the cafe), so issuing these miserly parking fines seems like Forestry England have lost the wood for the trees. At least signpost it more clearly to give people a chance to top up the payment (if that’s even possible retrospectively, but even then it would have cost a total of £10.30 to add another hour which is just extortionate) - I have visited multiple times and never seen a clear sign about the strict timing enforcement using ANPR.
