Khajjiar Tented Camp.

点评：During our recent Himachal Pradesh tour our tour operator had fixed up our accommodation in Banikhet somewhere beyond Dalhousie. On reaching Khajjiar in the evening of 05 May 25 we decided to spend one night in Khajjiar . We met a local person Mr. Vijay. He suggested ITC Fortune and a few other hotels. I told him since we were spending only the evening and a night, we were looking for a budget accommodation. It was then that he told us that he had a small camp with few tents about half a km on the opposite side of Khajjiar lake.
We had a look at the tented camp which had 6 tents. Each tent had a sit out and a bathroom. The bathroom fitting were new and spic and span. The bed had a clean mattress and linen. There were adequate power sockets for charging our mobile phones. The tents and outside had adequate lights. We liked the place and we decided to spend the night in this camp. We also thought the place was safe because there were a few houses close to the camp. Later a few more people checked into the camp.
Vijay had an assistant a young boy Rishi. After we settled down and night set in it became cold. Rishi set up and lit a camp fire for us in the open in a safe place away from the trees and the tents. While we enjoyed the warmth of the campfire Vijay and Rishi cooked a decent meal for us. In the morning we were provided tea and later breakfast. Thereafter we bid goodbye to Vijay and left for Dalhousie. We found Vijay to be a decent person. Vijay also arranges adventure activities like para gliding, horse riding etc.
Overall we had an exhilarating experience in the tented camp. I would recommend this camp for tourists visiting Khajjiar and who would like to stay in a camp to have a different and outdoor living experience.
