Multifaceted museum with great coffee.

点评：Lovely museum with great coffee!
Visited with 9-year-old and twelve-year-old. There is a special event on (“de Maak fabriek Lente”) for kids until part-way through June. This included a bag of goodies (one of which was a card to exchange at the end for a little bag of sweet) and the opportunity to make your own teabag (caffeine-free teas available). Over-12s can do the coffee-brewing/tasting session - although the lady on the desk was quite stern about our (sensible) older boy and that he wasn’t to handle the hot water. Lots of interesting history on Douwe Egberts - including the impact of colonialism and changing representations of plantation workers. Fascinating sections on Frisian “chair” and “tail” clocks, typesetting and brass casting although lots of the older sections only in Dutch. The translation function on the iPhone camera came in handy! Great (free with museum entry) cup of coffee at the end :)
