Bourne Mill Antiques的点评
点评：We visited Bourne Mill Antiques last weekend; we live in Portsmouth and always fit in a trip here when visiting nearby Guildford. I have made numerous purchases here in the past and enjoy pottering around antique shops.
The journey here took just over an hour. The staff have never been particularly friendly and the atmosphere this time wasn't great; one lady did acknowledge us with a 'hello' as we entered and that was where the 'customer service' ended. An older staff member pointedly blanked my son when he passed her in the shop and said 'hello' and a third bluntly told my husband 'No' when he politely asked if he could use the toilet. As customers we did not feel welcome which was disappointing. I heard other customers commenting upon 'frosty staff' as we walked round the shop. They weren't wrong! The stock which we did see appeared stale; much of what I saw in the first ten minutes was here when we visited last year.
I understand that not all antique shops have toilets available for customers but there are ways of saying this politely and, in my experience, most antique centres of this size do actually make such facilities available for customers, especially in quieter locations. We cut our visit short and won't be back. I hope the independent dealers within this centre are doing well, it is hard enough in this business to make profits. Rude gatekeepers certainly won't be helping trade.
