Just like independent mining- past it’s hay day

点评：As the only large volume accommodating attraction in the region we expected big things.
Whilst the staff were very much their best asset in terms of smiles and service, the site is sad and dreary.
I appreciate it’s a step back in time but at times it looked like a reclamation yard with no logic or order showing the industry through the ages chronologically.
The giant CAT machinery are impressive but there isn’t a single good spot for the ‘insta moment’ of the giant wheel photo that dosnt have a handrail or similar in the way.
The oriental gardens are aging and damaged, and the giant empty government building in the middle with no interp or explanation is an oddity.
Glad we didn’t travel too far as the place has loads of potential and the staff were great, but it just looked tired and passed its prime.
Up to date tetanus is advisable.
