点评：Our visit to SMJ was the highlight of our time in the UK! We'd been following SMJ on Insta for a few years and jumped at the chance to visit when we were in Blackpool for the International Dance Festival. The 90-minute drive through the countryside was lovely, and directions to the facility were clear.
Jess, Chris and his mum were so very accommodating, introduced the birds to us, and answered all our (sometimes) silly questions. Jess's take on each bird was hilarious. We learned that each bird has a distinct personality with preferences for people and food -- something you don't necessarily consider when you see them in the sky. It was thrilling to be so close to these majestic creatures (the birds, that is) and watch them fly in the field and land on your arm.
This is a family business, and it's clear that they care deeply about their birds and treat them like family, too. Their mission is education and they do it so well.
In life you have to do things while you can do them. I am so glad we took the time to visit SMJ--to meet the people as well as the birds--and we will definitely visit again next time we are in the UK.
