Unique Art Gallery in the heart of Merida

点评：This gallery is a must-see if you are visiting Merida. There is no cost to visit. It is a beautiful space filled with soul and spirit; the light dancing on the walls and a fountain providing serene sounds of water in the background. The art on display is a variety of mediums including sculpture, paint, blockprint and more. Most of the featured artists are part of the family that runs the gallery, including the mother, father and two daughters. Their work is all very different but all breathtakingly beautiful and profound. They also feature guest artists who are equally as talented. Melva Medina, the matriarch of the family is usually there and is happy to show you around and talk to you about the art. It was such a privilege to speak with Sra. Melva and hear her explain some of the themes and ideas behind her work. While many art spaces can feel presumptuous and stuffy, Nahualli felt like I was being welcomed into the home of artists who genuinely love creating and sharing with the community. Most of the pieces on display are for sale and they usually have some smaller prints for sale as well. I hope one day to purchase one of their pieces for my home, but for now, I will visit Nahualli as often as I can.
