点评：The "Heiligen-Geist-Hospital" (Hospital of the Holy Spirit) was built in 1286. It is one of the oldest existing social institutions in the world, and one of the most iconic buildings in the city. It is in the Brick Gothic style.
From the beginning it housed people needing medical care, but during the Reformation (16th century) it was converted into a secular old people's home.
The hall was originally open-space, and in 1820 four-square-meter wooden rooms were built, with two corridors between the rows of adjoining rooms. The rooms were occupied until 1970. Even today, parts of the Holy Spirit Hospital function as a retirement and nursing home (outside the main building).
A three-aisled church is what you see after entering the building, and this is the best part, with altarpieces, a depiction of the Elizabeth legend on 23 panels, wall paintings
