点评:Always a great day. Been here so many times but this time brought my little baby for her first climb!
A couple of tips from someone who has been here more times than I can count….
* don’t do what everyone else does and park at Newton-under-Roseberry- which is the steepest side.
It’s very easy to climb it and when you come from Great Ayton side. Everyone who complains about how steep it is comes from the other side.
I’ve never for the life of me understood why everyone comes from the other side when it’s so steep. You can park at Great Ayton side and it’s a lovely walk up.
* consider getting the train there and walking over to Guisborough from Roseberry Topping. It’s a gorgeous walk, straight down the back of the topping. Or, walk to Kildale via Captain Cooks monument. Usually Roseberry topping is just part of my walk, rather than the full thing, there’s so much to see in the area!
* if you’re ending in Great Ayton, the Royal Oak is my favourite but the Buck is amazing too for a wee drink.
