We booked the service for two separate transportation/guiding days, and both involved significant frustrations.
The trip began poorly when our airport pickup was missed by approximately two hours despite the guide having our confirmed flight information in advance. We ultimately had to arrange a taxi ourselves in order to stay on schedule for our ferry connection.
During the drives, communication between the guide and assistant often felt disorganized, with overlapping conversations and occasional bickering that made it difficult to follow commentary or enjoy the experience.
The second major issue came at Kennacraig after returning from Islay. We had sent WhatsApp updates when leaving the island and again upon arrival, and also attempted to call. When we arrived at the ferry terminal there was no guide present and no communication explaining the delay. Standing at a fairly isolated ferry terminal with luggage and no information was stressful and unnecessary.
Approximately 30 minutes after our arrival, I finally received a call advising that they were still 15 minutes away. Our expectation was that a professional guide would proactively communicate a 45-minute delay rather than wait until 30 minutes after our arrival to contact us.
Later in the drive, a lengthy personal phone call and constant interruptions further reduced the quality of the guiding experience, especially for those seated in the back of the vehicle.
Scotland itself was wonderful, but this particular driver-guide experience did not meet the level of professionalism we expected from a Blue Badge-certified guide service.
