点评：I can’t recommend Porthcawl Surf School enough!
Whether you’re starting out or looking to improve, it’s a fantastic place to book lessons. I’ve just completed my second Improvers course, having started with the Beginners course in May ’24 and my first Improvers in November. It’s excellent value, with professional, patient instructors who really know their stuff. I’ve had Emma for every course — she’s brilliant at sharing her in-depth knowledge in a way that’s clear, supportive, and easy to understand.
I’ve also been down a lot to practice outside of lessons and hires boards and wetsuits — the team is always welcoming and helpful, which makes popping in to surf on your own super easy. Each session has helped build my confidence and skills in the water, and I’ve loved every minute. I’m looking forward to putting my newfound knowledge into practice over the summer.
Top tips
- the surf school won’t hire out equipment 2 hours either side of high tide so check tide times.
- Be prepared to change at the boot of your car as there are no changing rooms. A changing robe is super helpful!
- The car park can get very full on warm days so make sure you’re there early enough to get a space.
