An incredible tour with Native Guidance-a must do in the Keys

点评：We had the absolute best day out on the water with Native Guidance, led by Captain Larry and DoroSea. What makes them so special is their deep-rooted connection to the area—both have spent their lives on and in the water, diving, living on a houseboat, and exploring the Keys since childhood. That lifetime of experience gives them a level of insight and authenticity that’s hard to find.
Our tour included a peaceful trip to Marvin Key, where we cruised through mangroves and explored shallow areas. DoroSea would actually hop out of the boat and guide us through different spots to search for shells and observe wildlife. Her love for the environment really shines through—she’s incredibly respectful and protective of the natural surroundings.
The amount of wildlife we saw was amazing. I couldn’t even keep track of it all, but here are just some of the highlights:
Sea life: dolphins, bull shark, lemon shark, stingrays, needlefish, jackknife fish, parrotfish, spadefish, minnows, sergeant majors, shiners, crabs.
Birds: roseate spoonbills, pelicans, cormorants, herons (including tri-colored), egrets, and frigates.
The vibe on the boat was super relaxed—laid-back music played softly, and they even provided a big cooler of ice for our drinks and snacks. Every little detail was thoughtful. Captain Larry and DoroSea are friendly, knowledgeable, and just wonderful guides.
Native Guidance offers other kinds of excursions too, but we were especially interested in the eco/nature experience, and it exceeded all expectations. If you’re looking for a genuine, low-key, and nature-filled outing in the Keys, don’t hesitate—book with Native Guidance!
