Very enjoyable hike
Mule Ears Spring Trail的点评
点评：Most of the reviews here say this is an Easy Flat trail.......I disagree. Of course, I am close to 60 yrs old.........but to me, I would categorize the trail as Moderate, and I would say that it is rolling up and down....with some flat parts. You need to watch your feet on this trail as much of it is gravel and larger rocks. There are many places where there are stone steps....so if you have knee issues or are unsure of you balance/footing....you may want to consider a different trail. The day we went was perfect weather, sunny, 70 degrees, light breeze. I would not want to walk this trail on a day any warmer than maybe 75 degrees. There was shade at the Spring, and there was a good bit of water in the spring....we heard a frog splash into the water when we arrived. We had a picnic at the spring....we were lucky to be the only folks at the spring when we arrived. Very quiet/peaceful. We saw about 4 folks walking towards the spring as we were walking back to our car. I thought the return trip was going to be difficult, but it was not.....for some reason, I found the return trip easier than the trip heading to the spring. Beautiful views throughout the walk. Really neat stone corral by the spring. Lots of variety in plants/cactus along the trail.....we did see one small snake...I think it was a Rat Snake.
