Ten out of ten - a spectacular cave.

点评：I thoroughly recommend visiting Hwaseongul Cave and its nearby sister, Daegeumgul Cave. You wont be disappointed, as the cave features are spectacular and the caves are immense. You'll probably want to stay in Gangneung or Samcheok and make a day-trip into the beautiful mountain countryside. It's probably best to drive, though there are definitely buses from Samcheok. When we visited there were few other tourists and the parking was easy. There are two ticket booths, one for Daegeumgul, where you require a booking as it is a guided tour, and one for Hwaseongul, which does not require a booking. You can walk up to the cave entrance, which is halfway up a mountain, but this is a strenuous walk. Better still, take the monorail up the steep incline. Once you are inside the cave you will follow walkways and you will be amazed at how deep you penetrate and what a marvelous feat on engineering the attraction is. There are explanatory sign in fairly good English. You'll likely not have visited such a large cave before. It's sister cave is a better-kept secret, smaller, but stunning, having only been discovered around 2002. Some guidebooks say that the interior lighting in the cave is OTT. I disagree. I think the cave has been well illuminated to make it interesting. The kids will love it. We walked back down, but you can catch the monorail. There are nearby eateries. Ten out of ten. Now visit the sister cave.
