点评:I walked to Monkey Hill from Old Town Phuket. It was a twenty-minute walk, and while it was not a difficult walk, it's not very scenic. It was very hot - every day is a hot day in Phuket - and once I reached the hill, I started up the winding road that takes you to the top. For someone of average fitness, taking the heat into account, I reckon that it's a moderately difficult climb. There are monkeys everywhere. To be specific, they're Long-Tailed Macaques. Unlike the tourists struggling up the hill, most of the Macaques spend the day resting in the shade or sleeping, which is the sensible thing to do when it gets really hot. On the road up, you'll pass a snack bar/restaurant with some nice views. There's also a temple. When I had walked about two-thirds of the way up, I took a water bottle out of my backpack to get a drink, and a monkey leapt out of the woods and charged across the road towards me. I was dumbfounded at first, but then a visitor about fifty yards behind me shouted "Water! Water!" and I figured it out and put the bottle in my backpack and ran away. The monkeys have fangs and sharp teeth and have been known to bite visitors. It chased me about twenty feet down the road but then gave up. As I said, it was a really hot day.
Of course, most of the monkeys are friendlier than that, and they're not shy. If you sit in the shade at one of the rest areas on the hill, they'll saunter right up to you, but they don't really want to be your friend. What they really want is your water bottle or a snack.

当然,大多数猴子都比这友好得多,它们一点也不怕人。如果你坐在山坡休息区的阴凉处,它们会踱步走到你跟前,但它们并不是真的想和你做朋友。它们真正想要的是你的水瓶或零食。
