Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
Talisman Theatre and Arts Centre的点评
点评：What a great take on a classic story. The narrative held together well and the amusing asides for Mary as narrator were fun. Elysia Sully in this role was excellent, fluent and engaging. Rona Munro has made an brilliant job of recounting the Frankenstein we know. Kathy Buckingham-Underhill has directed a strong, tight, if complicated tale with great style, utilising all aspects of the super set design and the talented cast.
Dr Frankenstein was played by Adam Turner with confidence and was cleverly executed with both light and shade to portray a complicated character.
The monster was good too, with makeup by Sam Ferry and Lorraine Tyagi with the scene with the bodies truly disturbing and mesmerising. I do wish there was a programme, not only for my collection, but to check the cast which I cannot find on the website. However, the whole cast was obviously a team with one thought in mind to deliver a wonderful show.
Incidentally, the refurbished Talisman is welcoming and the friendly bar and interval ice cream a bonus.
