点评:You know when you make a totally spontaneous decision to "just check this place out" and come out feeling totally overawed? This was me on my recent visit to this gem of a museum.
There is a seriously wide range of exhibits from seaside memories (fantastic photos and even costumes for the brave to try on), history of ship building and fishing, interactive map and information on the local wrecks together with items that have been retrieved by divers over the years (not fogetting the canon balls found by a 13 year old in the 70s!), Brunel, Morse code, French Invasion, Babbage and Muse (one of my favourite bands and so a real treat.) and more - but do go and explore for yourself.
As someone who has worked with children and young people over the years I was really impressed with the accessibility for them and as someone now interested in reminiscent work I couldn't help but see the potential for so many of the resources here.
Ticket entry gives free return over the year - and it looked like there was a rolling programme of exhibitions and also a programme of talks so, if you live local (Sadly I don't) a no-brainer.
Thankyou friendly staff also for the welcome and introduction to the place.
