When a viewpoint doesn’t have much of a view…….!

点评：Parking in the NT car park (you can’t park in the adjacent private driveway) it’s a good distance, fairly level walk to the first “view point”……although not in my opinion, much of a view, due to the overgrown bracken, gorse and mature trees, blocking a great proportion of it. If you’re short (under 6’) or in a wheelchair, I’d say more view glimpses, in between overgrown foliage! None of the view benches now allow any sea/Sidmouth views due to the overgrown foliage.
I believe years gone by, there used to be spectacular views accessible to all, but the NT have left it (calling it rewinding….I call it budget cutting). Shameful really.
I heard an older man, very recently, fell part way down the cliff as he was balancing on a mound of earth to get a better view of the obstructed view…..!!! He was recovered ok. 🧐👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼NT.
If you carry on to the ‘frog stone’ (through a couple of field gates) there is a spectacular view (although not over Sidmouth) with one bench (could easily accommodated a couple more imho).
Unfortunately sometimes there are cows in this part, and they produce an enormous amount of poo (sometimes actually on the bench?), which detracts from this viewpoint enjoyment…..but the cows are not always in this field, so it’s pot luck.
Dogs need to be on leads around the cows btw…….

不幸的是，有时这个地方有奶牛，它们会产生大量的粪便（有时实际上是在长凳上？），这有损于这个观点的享受……但奶牛并不总是在这个领域，所以这是运气。
顺便说一句，狗需要拴在牛周围……。
