A lovely surprise, and great use of this old and characterful building.

点评：This charming restored house on the east coast of Yell is a little gem. Full of character, they have created a cosy cafe corner, a small gallery and gift area, plus a small museum about life on Yell, The coffee was good and hot, which was very welcome on another of those days where it switched between sun and sleet every half hour. And not only that, there was, to my great delight, a choice of two gluten free sweet treats – from which I selected the delicious empire biscuit. Light and tasty and so nice to have something gf on offer, AND to have a choice!
We sat by the old hearth and enjoyed our break, before exploring the rest of the building, wondering at the determination and hardiness of the people of these islands, both in their everyday life and during challenging historical periods. Well worth a visit.
