点评:First I went to Velliangiri hills on Mar 8th 2024 and started climbing around morning 10 AM. Climate was hot/dry and all my water bottles were empty on completing first hill and I was dehydrated. I came down and couldn’t complete it.
Later again I went to Velliangiri on Mar 26th 2024. This time I started around evening 5 PM. Reached top of 7th hill around 1 AM next day. Worshipped Velliangiri andavar and came to foot hills at 10 AM. Took many breaks during down hill. Successfully completed all seven hills and worshipped lord shiva this time.
1st and 7th hill are the toughest. It checks your will power. 2nd, 3rd and 4th are comparatively easier than 1st and 7th. Only 5th hill is flat and 6th hill is downhill, which are the easiest to climb.
Preparation:
Walk daily atleast 5 kms for a month as you need to be physically fit, as no medical assistance will be there in the hills. Try climbing stairs daily for atleast one hour or do mountain climbers exercise.
Carry atleast a 50 gms of common salt for mixing with water, as muscle cramps will happen. On drinking salt mixed in water, it solved my cramps in my thighs.
Carry atleast two or three small torches if traveling night.
Carry atleast 3 litres of reusable water bottles. You will get water in sunai at 2nd, 4th and 6th hill, but too much crowd will be there. You need to wait for 15 to 30 minutes to fill water, in case of heavy crowd.
Carry a thick full sleeve t shirt. It will be very cold after 4th hill, in car you are climbing in evening.
Carry enough food, snacks which gives immediate energy. Carry them in newspaper or tiffin boxes. Plastic covers are not allowed.
Take enough breaks, as our heart pumps rapidly. Walk at the pace that is comfortable for you. Don’t try to climb in the same place as your friends, because everyone’s fitness level is different.
