点评:Beautiful place with a stunning view and a well-kept garden — unfortunately, that’s where all the positives end.
The service was simply terrible. We were a large group (30 people), and almost every moment left an unpleasant impression.
We found hair in the food — one in a meat dish and another in the khachapuri dough. In addition, the food itself was completely tasteless.
As compensation, we were given a 10% discount, but honestly, it does not change the overall impression at all. Finding hair in food is a matter of basic hygiene, not price.
It is also worth mentioning the staff’s attitude. We asked for coffee without sugar, but we were served very sweet coffee instead. Several people, not knowing this, had already taken a sip. We calmly asked to replace it with regular unsweetened coffee, but instead of an apology, we were met with a very annoyed reaction from the waitress and the bartender. We were looked at as if we were asking for something impossible. Then we were brought sweet coffee again. I did not allow it to be served to the guests because we had specifically asked for coffee without sugar. The waitress’s attitude made it seem as if we were obliged to drink whatever we were given.
Later, we ordered iced Americanos and cappuccinos, but were told they could only make them warm. For a place of this level, this seems very strange.
Another issue is communication with the staff. The employees barely speak English and are very reluctant to speak Russian. I am allergic to garlic, and to simply ask whether a dish contained garlic, I had to open a Google image of garlic and show it to the waitress so she could understand what I meant. For a restaurant that hosts tourists and large groups, this is simply unacceptable.
What surprised us even more was that the bill was provided exclusively in Georgian. With all due respect to the country, Georgian is not an international language. If you work with tourists, there should be an option to print the receipt at least in English. After all the issues with the order, I needed to carefully check the bill, especially since the total amount was six digits. In the end, I was standing at the counter while the cashier literally translated each line of the receipt from Georgian into English so I could understand what exactly we were paying for. This looked extremely unprofessional and took a lot of time.
It is a real shame, because the place itself is truly beautiful. But a beautiful interior and view cannot compensate for poor food, violations of basic hygiene standards, incompetent service, and disrespectful treatment of guests.
I do not recommend this restaurant inside of Chateau. If it is worth visiting at all, it is only for photos and the beautiful view. For lunch or dinner, it is better to choose another place.
