点评:My husband and I attended a show last night which we have been looking forward to for some time. Unfortunately our enjoyment of it was ruined due to people using their mobile phone during the performance.
The staff silently walk along in front of the stage showing written signs urging people not to use them, which most people either don’t notice or just ignore completely as it is too passive; and no effort is made to inform people sat in the upper circle at all. Although staff are not accountable for the behaviour of the audience, I feel that they have a duty to ensure that the majority of the paying audience can watch a show without avoidable distractions.
As regular theatre attendees we have heard a clear, polite yet assertive message prior to a performance to not use a phone for the sake of other people at various other theatres - York Barbican does this in the most effective way.
My point is, if you want to see a much anticipated show, where you choose to see it can make all the difference.
