点评：Rajarajeshwara temple is just walkable distance from the Maheshwar Ghat and Fort, but most of the people are not aware of this temple as it is placed in such a corner point when you are seeing from Main Maheshwar fort. This temple is also one of the old temple of Maheshwar and Must visit place.
In this temple main deity is Lord Shiva, who is worshipped here as Rajarajeshwara Swamy. This temple has many small temples inside the temple premises, but Rajarajeshwara Swamy is main and ancient Deity of this temple.
This temple is known for:
1. It is believed that the wishes of getting health and age are fulfilled by Lord Shiva located here.
2. This temple is known for the monolithic 11 Akanda lamps lit inside this temple. This lamps are lit in this temple centuries ago and said to be forever. Each lamp consumes 1.25 kg Desi Ghee to burn for 24 hours. Devotees have been donating ghee to keep it burning forever. there is separate building constructed to store the donated Ghee in protected atmosphere.
3. There is temple dedicated to Sahasraarjun, who held Ravana prisoner for many months here. Birth Anniversary of Sahastrabahu kartviry Arjun is a Big festival here and is Celebrated on Agahan(Margashira) Month. This celebration continues for three days, and ends with a big lunch for all called as BHANDARA.
